Probably. I always thought it weird that Christians would want to wear a cross and I'm not sure Jesus would be too happy if he ever came back.
I should think a cross is the last thing he'd want to see.

it does seem kind of bizarre to wear the instrument of death as an amult or symbol of your faith- we are to look to what God did on the cross, not to the cross itself. I highly doubt the early church went around wearing crosses and hanging them in their homes, especially crosses with the dying Jesus on it- can you imagine if Jesus were here today and "crucified" would we wear pistols, or electric chairs, or syringes around our necks??
I have always found that a little bizarre and often wonderofthe origins of the practice. I could probably look it up quite easily but just have nottaken the time.

Because hanging was not a practiced in the same manner as Crucifixion was by the Romans at this time. Crucifixion was also a terrible, long-lasting torture which really give credit to the Christian belief that Jesus did suffer on the cross for all mankind and that forgivness to all was given through this action.

I don't know of ANY Christian who wears a "crucifix", dear one. We sometimes wear a simple cross, however. The crucifix still has Christ on the cross. The Christian Jesus is Risen, the cross is empty, as well as the tomb.
God bless!

This question has been asked a million times, and is thus deemed a drinking Q. Plus, it's Sunday - so I am looking for a convenient excuse to crack open a beer.

But it didn't happen that way. The "if" question should be of better use if you pertain to future references, not what that has gone to pass...
Enjoy your sunday
