There are just a lot of self righteous people on here that like to tell everyone else how they are wrong.
There is a way to state your own beliefs without condemning everyone elses. It is obviously assumed that if you believe what you believe then you believe the other side is incorrect. But you dont have to make comments like, because you are wrong or because the devil is leading you away. Sooo many "christians" answer questions in this manner. I dont understand why they would expect anyone to take them seriously.
The more and more I read some answers in here by self proclaimed self righteous pious christians the more and more I am grateful that I was raised mormon.
My best friend growing up was Catholic. I most definetly dont agree with the catholic doctrine or even some of the churches positions and behaviors as of late, but most catholics are good people and they have the right to believe as they want.
Most every christian church has broken off somehow from the Catholic church if you trace that church's lineage because most have broken from the protestant church.

Look closely at these anti-Catholics' arguments. The vast majority of them probably don't know the first thing about true Catholicism.

Arch Bishop Fulton Sheen once said, "There are not but a hundred people in the world who hate Catholicism. But there are millions who hate what they believe Catholicism to be."

As is so often the case, people hate what they don't understand. Unfortunately, most of these people don't have a clue and don't want one either. Such haters are few and far between in the real world.

But the the Internet provides for them a way to find each other and express their anti-Catholic sentiment while remaining anonymous. They find others who share their viewpoints and get off on seeing others affirm their ill-conceived notions.

That's why it seems like they're "everywhere".

The best way to deal with it is this: Counter their using the Internet as a place to spread Catholic hate by using the Internet as a place to spread Christ-like love.

?? Are you talking about R&S people not liking Catholics? Cause they don't like any Christians as far as I can tell. I avoid it when I can. Not many people in R&S are "religious" or "spiritual". Most are atheists and agnostics. I think they hang out there to belittle people with religious beliefs of any kind. Makes them look really stupid, getting all emotional about something that isn't real to them, doesn't it?

JMHO

Before any hate emails start, if you want to contest what I have to say, do it here so the asker can see it. And look over R&S yourself for a few days. It's rare that a "religious" person can ask a question about "religion" and not get bashed by more atheists and agnositics than with real answers from other people who share their beliefs.

I think it is not really a hatred of religion, but just a misunderstanding passed through family members because of the lack of understanding. We are brought up to believe what our parents belive in and most of us stay that way, but we have to also let other people have there own beliefs as well, I am a spiritualist and my mother is catholic and my dads Protestant but at the end of the day what ever religion you are is up the person as an individual and there is no wrong or right.

I'm not against Catholics. I was raised one myself. Now, the Roman Catholic Church is an institution, one that has done things unimaginable. If you want to know just do a little research.

Personally, I feel the Bishops and others in administration of church affairs have shamefully betrayed their congregation by covering up, and moving around priest who are Pedophilic.

What I wonder is this: In about 300 C.E. (ad) when the church decided it could gain more wealth by not having priest with families and thus the priest will marry Jesus law came down, why, did they not think to have it a requirement of priesthood--castration? This would be a great way to tests’ the true priests right up front. If they truly give themselves in marriage to Jesus then thy surly don't need those extra parts, now do they? Think of the millions and millions of dollars the church would have saved in recent times.

I have more to say but will end my ranting, now...

Yes I agree I am sick of anti-Catholics hating on us too! The Roman Catholic church has a wonderful atmosphere and I feel at home there. Other churches are really nice but do not make me feel at home like I do in my own church !!

I don't believe in any religion, it's a big starter of wars. There is no evidence to support any religion and we all know it! Practising religious people waste their time worshipping a God which was made up in a book - which is no better than believing in the Tooth Fairy!
I do not hate the Catholics, only when they approach us and try to brainwash us into believing their religion is true when none of them are.

Why?
brought up to be bigots
believed all the lies and rumors about Catholics and those who are different from them
Catholic ethics make them feel guilty about abortion, sex outside of marriage, serial polygamy, etc
they have never read a Catholic defense
like to jump on hate or blame bandwagons
love conspiracy theories
have emotional,chemical ,socialor psychological problems
are too lazy to look up Catholic sites or primary sources
need to put down others to inflate self esteem
to be accepted or praised by other antiCatholics
selective ignorance of history
ethnic/nationalist/regional/racial bigotries
revenge on Catholic ancestors,family,teachers

It's the internet, hun. People here aren't mindless robots; we all have different beliefs, opinions and ideas. Religion is the most controversial subject you can touch on, if you've noticed. You either hate a religion because it isn't yours, love it because it IS yours, atheist and don't give a damn, or atheist and looking to flame the next person that mentions "god".

Everyone in the world isn't going to think alike, and it would be something terrible if we did. The internet is filled with a collection of different opinions (and some people are very blunt when expressing theirs), so we simply have to take it, learn from it, and develop our own independent thinking.

I hate it when somone of a different faith hates another, people are sometimes so narrow minded they think what they believe in is %100 correct rather than just something they believe (No possibility of them being wrong what they believe is Fact)! I am an Atheist and i respect fully what others believe in I dont use a discussion like this to try and make them disbelieve that God does not exist! Be proud of what you are and dont force your believes on someone else, also dont try and disprove what someone else believes you will only make them angry!
