I have many questions about Christianity that my pastor just can't answer in a satisfying way. (For example, why would an all-powerful and all-loving Father require my faith instead of having a more personal, face-to-face relationship with me? And lots of others...)

I feel like I need to just stop asking these deep questions to keep my faith intact. But would this offend God? Doesn't God want me to make Christianity logical? I didn't choose to be a questioner, that's just the way I am...

Can anyone else relate? Have you learned to stop asking difficult questions so that you can keep believing?

If you have to stop asking questions you don't have any faith to begin with. Don't stop looking for your answers. Pastors don't have all the answers...Look everywhere. read..study other subjects ..I like quantum physics myself.

I would lean towards saying no, that's not ok. Why should you give up on logic and learning because your pastor has an inadequate understanding of many matters.

If your faith gets in the way of your learning, that is a problem. Deliberate ignorance isn't devotion, sorry. I think it is most excellent that you are asking questions, as that is what every person should do.

I am an atheist... but I know a lot of people who have asked those questions and developed a far deeper relationship with god than they ever had before. If your inquiries bring you closer to god, that is excellent. If it is the opposite, then you may come to find that worrying about possible offenses is irrelevant.

Either way, please question. You believe that god gifted you with intelligence, no? So what better use of that intelligence than to try to learn more about him? If you stop asking questions because it is too hard, then you are making it far too easy for anyone to lead you anywhere, not just in a religious context but anything.

I can totally relate.
I was raised Catholic. I then got brainwashed into being a "born again Christian". Now I'm not either.

It's difficult to let go of things, especially spiritual things because they are so significant to us.

But here's the thing...There is a reason you have these questions, and there is a reason why you aren't getting answers that ring true.

There is only one thing God (or our Creator if you prefer) gave us when he created us, and that is our soul, our spirit.
He didn't pack a bible in the womb with us, nor a koran or a torah or whatever other religious books there are out there.

He simply gave us all a soul. I believe our creator gave us everything we need to find our spiritual path.

So that's my advice to you, if something doesn't ring true in your soul, then it's probably not the right spiritual path for you.

However make sure it's your soul that's having issues and not something else. Sometimes our ego can get in the way, or things that have been forced on us by society, our parents, etc.

Just look within your soul.

Faith???

You pretend to be a believer which makes you a pretender. What is the word for that beginning with the letter "hypocrite"?

And you tell a shallow lie so you have no shame about it. You don't have any Faith!!! You think that anyone who does have faith is illogical and you argue against God and the Bible without any effort to understand anything so why would you ask your pastor questions? You don't even have a pastor! Your "deep" questions are asked to bait those who actually know what faith is.

No way. Don't stop asking. God gave us the intelligence and expects us to use it. And God is not afraid of the hard questions, even if your pastor is. Just don't make the mistake of thinking that because you can't get the answer it means that there are no answers out there. But there are a lot of questions that only God will be able to answer when we see Him.

Here's what we know: Man is sinful and owes the penalty of his sin, death. God loves us so much that He decided to pay that penalty for us. His son Jesus was put to death in our place and if we believe in Jesus and accept His sacrifice we are free from the penalty. Period.

There are some other things that were revealed to us and some things that weren't. If God didn't see fit to give us reasons for some things then I have to assume that the sovereign God of the universe decided we didn't need the information and I trust His judgment. Maybe it's like with our children. We tell them not to talk to strangers. But we don't tell them it's because someone might kidnap them, molest them, cut their heads off and bury them in a shallow grave. We just give them the information they need to know because we can see more than they can from our vantage point as adults and we know that there is information that their small minds just can't handle.

Christianity is based on Faith this is where we draw power from and continue when in difficult situations.

Most of our questions can be answered but this does not need to shake your Faith. Ask your questions to get confirmation not to seek errors. This way you can wait for conformation without losing faith because there are 'cracks' in your understanding.

It might help to speak to somone that has knowledge and wisdom from years walking with God. Speak to sombody,
it is true that somtimes we must have blind faith but it is not neccecary to build our believes on blind faith.

Ask God to show you the way and keep a look out for a light in the distance that would give you direction.

You love to learn. I can see that. God is the only true teacher.
Seek wisdom & ye shall find it, but it can only come from
God. Did you know that God the Father had faith in Jesus
accomplishing all that He was sent to do? Eph 1:12.

Did you know that Jesus had faith in the Father, that He
would raise Him from the dead? Heb 3:-2.

Eph 2:8, say, "For by grace are ye saved through faith;
AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES: IT IS THE GIFT OF
GOD: not of works, lest any man should boast".

This faith, that saved us, is the faith of the Father & the Son.
"not of yourselves".

Your pastor will never be able to answer any of your questions in a satisfying way? The answers you seek come from within. The Bible is just a guidebook for you to use to find the truth within yourself. God does have a face-to-face relationship with you through everyone you meet. If you seek the face of God it will be shown to you. Your faith and Christian Logic are only connected if you compare apples to pineapples.

Don't ever stop asking difficult questions, just stop asking them to worldly side of humans. God is spirit, God is energy, ask your difficult questions to God in spirit and energy and you will receive your anwers in that form from humans, allowing you to see the face of God.

Asking questions is GOOD!

Probably the biggest question you should ask yourself is, Is your faith well placed?

Contrary to popular theology, God doesn't want "blind faith." Rather his Word says things like:
"Prove all things; keep that which is good." (2 Thess 5:21)

"Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth ...Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding" ((Pr 4:5,7).

"...And apply your heart to understanding; 3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, 4 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God" (Proverbs 2:2-5).

"When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, 11 Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you, 12 To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things" (Proverbs 2:10-12).

"He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good" (Pr 19:8).

But you may find that your pastor doesn't know the truth. Go to the source -- God's Word, the Bible; and ask HIM for understanding.

God gave you a mind. Use it. If you have questions, then seek answers. You do not have to give up your faith even if an idea challenges it. We do not have all the answers, and we will not in this life. The book of Proverbs is a good place to start seeking wisdom rather than just answers to questions. The following is from Chapter 3:
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Good luck in your search.
