I have had a bad sore throat for a little over a week.Well, really its been sore on and off for about a month. I have tried several different atibiotics within the month. I have been on antibiotics for 6 days. It has not gotten any better. Mono is going around at my school. Do you think I could have that?
I also feel tired and sluggish, i have a headache, and I don't feel like eating anything.
And im allergic to amoxicillin and any medicines with it in them.
Idk what to do.
I feel horrible all the time, all i want to do is sleep.
I can't keep missing school.

With your symptoms and the fact mono is going around your school, it's very possible it could be mono. You need to go into your doctor and have him assess you. Mono can be a very dangerous illness as it can make your spleen swell very badly and it can rupture during the course of the illness. Your doctor will run other tests to figure out why you are not getting better.

The dr. would have done blood tests to determine whether or not you have mono. Your symptoms sound like it, but it isn't treated with antibiotics since it is caused by a virus. Your dr should be following up on you & deciding what the next course of action is. Hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, probably mono. I had it and that's how I felt. Time to see your family doctor and get it tested. They'll put you on medicine that'll make it go away. Good luck!

It is time, you go to the Doctor, or at least a phone call to the Advice Nurse. Simply, explain your symptoms, to that person.
