I am a catholic and I must say you are absolutely right, and I am accepting that fact everyday, proof that he dose not exist is closer than many think, If you were able to research the Vatican you would find out that it really is all just a lie, I will say if I was God and wanted people to worship me I would sure as hell let them know just who I was and that I was real, instead of siting back and letting mankind wonder is he or is he not.

Dan Barker is indeed a very smart man. Too bad frightened believers view his evidence based books to be tossed on the same pile as fiction like the Da Vinci Code (and where the Bible belongs as well).
Dan Brown? Never heard of him. Heh.

He writes good fiction and it can make people think, which is not bad for fiction.
But it is just fiction.
There are indeed, many writers of science and history who have better explanations of the matters described in Brown's books. If Brown gets you started looking at those writings, he will have served you well.

An what if it wasn't. What if the Bible is a sort diary of early man documenting things.
The first law of critical thinking is not to believe you got it all figured out.
The moment you think you have it all figured out you become closed minded.
That's why Chrsitians and Jews read the Bible, because they haven't got it all figured out and learn something new from each reading.

Don't base any arguments off of Dan Brown. He is a fiction writer; nothing you say will hold any weight if you use his name. Go to Barnes and Noble and peruse the Philosophy section. You will find all sorts of literature to make a stronger point....but please don't use Dan Brown...it makes us other Atheists look bad.

Dan Brown is just a fictional writer. I dont really take him to be a historian or religious scholar
I cant wait for his next book to come out though. It is suppose to be about the masons. Given his writing history I suspect that he might actually give a positive spin to the masons.

If you would do just a little study you could learn what a genius is and just the act of learning something could help you to keep from being hood winked.

Thank you for cluing me in on why so many churches were against people reading The DaVinci Code. I believe that is the same reason so many churches have put up creationism propaganda websites that provide nothing but lies and misconceptions about The Big Bang Theory as well as The Theory of Evolution.
