I am a photographer that needs a tax ID number. I want to know what to do to get one, in South Florida.

Neither. At that income level, a corporation would be an absolute waste of money. A photog has limited exposure to liability issues and can go safely as a sole proprietor, which is what you are right now.

For Federal returns you don't need an EIN unless you have employees but may wish to get one so you don't have to hand out your SSN all over the place.

The only tax you may need to concern yourself with in FL is sales tax. Check with the FL department of revenue to see if you need to collect and render sales tax.
