I let my ex borrow an old laptop and my toolbox. My ex was living with some girl they were seeing. After their "break up," my ex moved out leaving some things behind so they can pick them up later (which included my laptop and toolbox). The girl said she decided to place my items out on her porch so that anyone who walks by can grab them; and in fact someone did. I am taking the girl to "small claims court" because she stated she wasn't going to pay me for it. I want to make sure that she did get rid of my property, so i want to know how can i go about getting the police to search her apartment. This girl is very spiteful and could just be lying and acting immaturely. So, before i go ahead to small claims court, i want to make sure she doesn't have it. If you guys can give me any info on if this is possible and/or how to get started with this warrant, i'd appreciate it! Thanks!

I do have proof that the girl said she threw it out. I saved all the text messages...and i can get the receipts for my items. Would this matter?

is there anyway that the court would rule in her favor? and if so, under what circumstances?
