my boyfriend broke up with me and my grandfather died last week so i have found therapy in limiting my food intake.

i have only drinken 3 slimfast shakes a day for the past 4 days.

it makes me feel calm and in control, i heard fasting is associated with a sense of such cleansing.

yes you're technically fasting. You're just getting the nutirents you need. You'd better start eating soon.

No, what you are doing is called an eating disorder. This limiting of your food in return for a feeling of calm and control over something in your life is NOT a good thing. This is how anorexia can start. Plan healthy, small meals that include a variety of foods for meeting your nutritional needs. What you are doing is not putting you in control, but the exact opposite. I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandfather and the breakup. I know you are looking for comfort and solace. Talk to your friends and family, or get a dog, but please don't take chances with your health. There are so many people that love and care for you.

Fasting is something you should do for a religeous reason, or as per doctors request. And then there can be clear definitions of what fasting is.Fasting is primarily the act of willingly abstaining from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. Concerning that from which one fasts, and the period of fasting, a fast may be total or partial.(wikopedia)

You are not fasting. You are consuming garbage.
Eat real food or you will regret it in the end.
Yeah, you will gain, not lose, weight.
