Why is it that when I ignore the guy that I'm seeing (i.e. his phonecalls, text messages, msn messenges) it makes him push even harder to talk to me. He'll keep trying to contact me until I give in and answer. But when I call him or message him, it pushes him away and I hear from him less.
Does anyone know what the reason for this is?

Sounds like he wants you when he wants you.Sounds to me like he is playing a game with your head.He will talk to you when he feels like talking to you.He wants to make you jump through hoops when he wants you.Some guys like toying with a girls feeling to see how far they can go.You and him need to sit down and deside if you both want to be together.Tell him how you feel and go from there.

Guys, are stupid. BUT. So are girls. People, in general. Well, the majority of people, at least, at sometime in their life. Want what they cannot have.
When he feels like you want him, he becomes uninterested, because he knows that he won't have to work for it. The same thing goes with girls. If you continue to push him away, he wants to feel victorious by getting you. But be prepared. When/if he gets what he wants, he may decide he wants something else

Sounds like he likes the chase.
But, why would you ignore him, if you're seeing him? If you like him, you should answer his calls and messages.
