i am over weight and struggling very badly with it. i am 21 years old, 5'4" and...........220 pounds. :( my doctor has diagnosed me with PCOS and told me that the best thing for me would be to loose weight. He told me that because of the PCOS it would be very difficult to loose weight but it would be very benifical for many reasons. 1) it would be better for my over all health. 2) my PCOS would not be so bad. 3) my fertility would not be at such risk.
I have been over weight since i was about eight or nine years old.
I started really trying to loose weight about a year ago. i was able to loose 30 pounds. but since last november i have been stuck at my current weight. i havent given up but i am constantly beating myself up over it. i am not looking for an easy way out by any means. i want to do this the healthy way. i am not looking for a diet pill to do the work for me. but i am to the point that i amjust sick of myself. :(
I would really appreciate any pointers.

DON'T GIVE UP. YOU CAN LOSE WEIGHT. I know you can, because I did. I'm still losing weight today.

It's really quite simple; there are only two things you need do to reach your goals:

1. Restrict daily calories to 1600 calories per day. By increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat, you will be able to keep your intake at this level without feeling hungry or uncomfortable.

2. Exercise for one hour a day, every single day. It can be anything from pilates to just plain walking, but do it. One hour. Every day.

Go to a gym and work with a personal trainer. Also ask them if they can set you up with a meal plan. Don't give up!
