No, you would not pay back what she did, however you may still feel the effects of what she did. The "Three Fold Law" states that what we do to others will come back to us three fold. These eight words the Reed complete "An it harm none, do what ye will." that is what we live by the Wiccan Reed, you should read it and the Three Fold Law to gain some more understanding, besides the Laws of Karma would not let you take the burden for anothers transgressions.

Blessed Be.

no. that reminds me of the nonsense in Christianity about the sins of the fathers coming down to punish the sons. I don't know how much truth the Christians put in THAT little tidbit, but Witches don't have any similar or comparable silliness.

Or I should say MOST Witches probably don't have any such thing. I am reminded that I don't speak for every Witch, just myself.

From MY understanding of what Witches do and do not believe -- Each person is responsible for THEIR OWN actions, and does not "pay" for another person's evil acts.

This does not mean that the other person wil not be AFFECTED by them, as you obviously feel you have been, but that you are not responsible for "paying back" in a SPIRITUAL sense for the harm that may have been caused

Ex witch here..that is silly superstition. What is happening is your fear has manifested itself into reality. You have created your own reality. An evil spell is nothing more then negative intention that will come back to you in a different form. Energy is never wasted, so the intention goes out into the universe and often comes back to the person who intended it. Get rid of that superstitious energy you are giving YOURSELF and your life will improve. You might also want to rid yourself of people with bad intentions, including, unfortuately, your mother.

I personally knew a woman related to the Bell Witch curse.
She was part Cherokee. And the curse was made by Natives on a White man who killed a Cherokee women to cover up the fact he got her pregnant.
The woman I knew talked about seeing vsions of her father burning, and had an evil spirit following her around. Making her think it was people she knew. I talked to her, and she said one night she saw a big black hairy thing that jumped on her.
She ran off in the middle of the night, and I've only seen her once since. She was very sick.
Do you think she was directly related to the curse by a past life? I do.

No, it's NOT true at all. A Witch assumes responsibility for EVERYTHING that he/she does in his/her life. It's in the Rede, ONLY the Witch receives the Kharmic payback and the children have nothing to do with such payback at all.

Different witches have different views of ethics, but I certainly believe that we are responsible for our own actions. We can't force someone to take the responsibility for us. What you're describing is essentially an offshoot of the concept of original sin, which I am dead against.

It gose back on to the witch no one else. Why would the powers that be harm an innocent. If you are worried there are ways to protect yourself from the evil someone esle did.

From my understanding and what I have learned. Each person pays for their own actions. The children would not pay for the parents actions

According to my niece, they believe in doing no harm. Plus whatever is done will return to them 3-fold. But it would depend on the spell. According to her, there are cleansing things that you can do to help counteract it. I just don't know what they are.
