I, for one, am SO glad Atkins (rest his soul) is not God, because anyone who would ask their followers to give up crackers and pasta is a sadistic dictator. I think I'd choose eternal hellfire, what about you?

Gluttony is one of the seven capital sins. It is better to eat the kind of diet mentioned in the Bible (Leviticus) than to follow all the diet gurus who tell you what and how to eat.
So to answer your question, no, I wouldn't convert to Atkins (whichever of his diets is being promoted now).
