Do you realize what you're saying when you say "Golly" "Gosh" or "Gee" or "Heck?"

Those are "polite" substitutes for "God!" and "Jesus!" and "Hell!"

Almost every seemingly meaningless exclamation is actually a euphemism... a substitute to speak the unspoken.

How's your conscience deal with that?

I usually don't need to use euphemisms.

Of course, I generally don't use vulgarity either as I find it less satisfying than other descriptive language

Suzanne,
I have not done so for MANY Years. I used to curse and then I became a Christian. Shortly after I became a Christian, I realized what those euphemisms were for and they went to the HIGHWAY also. I read, study, and obey our FATHER'S HOLY WORD each and every single day and do my best to refrain from sinning. I pray for the forgiveness of sins that I may have inadvertently committed every day also. Have a wonderful week!
Thank YOU,
Eds

*shrugs* I think abstract words are good. Verbal expression is sometimes very visceral, and requires outburst. Now, as substitutions for God and Jesus and Hell, if your heart is in the right place, I think your intent is carried. If you are conscious enough to be respectful, then that respect is honorable.

Personally, I occasionally will say "God," and more often "Hell," but never Jesus. For whatever reason. I also use Frak instead of a different word, because I love Battlestar Galactica, it's not technically explicitive, and it sounds funny. :P

If my kids are around I either don't say the actual word, or I say something else.
If others are around I generally don't, because I was raised to have better manners than that, and I think it makes people look crass to curse. Unless they've just smashed their finger with a hammer or something, in which case it's understandable. Briefly.

actual there is no longer a itemizing of curse words that i've got seen asserting those circulate against God. The text cloth you employ the notice in would be comparable to asserting the different notice. because of the fact many words sound vulgar Christians attempt to refrain from asserting them. by way of asserting "Oh crap" or "Fudge" basically a various type comparable meaning. 2 words i can't stand and desire we could do away with are the "F" notice and the "GD" notice. those words i rather hate and could tell somebody while they used around me.

I prefer saying nonsense in other languages, such as "Le machoir de ta belle mere!"

Actually, i am not bothered at all by "Gosh",etc but I am very annoyed and saddened by misuse of the Holy Names.

I say Bolshevik instead of bullshit, and some times cheese and crackers got all muddy. and my conscience is fine with it, as it is just an euphemisms, just an out burst.

Yes, I am painfully aware of this and still trying to break the habit. In the last year I've started saying "garbage" instead of these words. Sounds goofy, but it works. ;)

My conscience beats me up over it. Therefore I am trying my best to stop using those words. It is not easy.

Hell no. If I'm gonna say ****, I say ****. Why wouldn't that apply here?

Besides, saying Gosh Dangit has the same sentiment as God Damnit. Are you like tricking god or something?
