Culture of violence? Did you know that all illegal weapons in mexico come from the US and are illegally passed down the border?
So let me get it straight, we smuggle weapons into mexico and they are the violent ones?

It would be interesting to heard your evidence that Catholics (Mexican or any other culture) have a "culture of violence."
Catholics believe that life is a sacred gift from God and needs to be treated with all human dignity from the moment of conception to the point of natural death.
The Catholic Church is not just against unjust violence, it is pro-life in the widest sense. This is often called a "Consistent Ethic of Life."
This pro-life stance stresses the highest regard for dignity of human life including that of:
+ All people in objecting to unjust war and nuclear arms.
+ The unborn in objecting to to abortion, in vitro fertilization, frozen embryos, embryonic stem cell research, and cloning
+ The elderly, sick and dying in objecting to assisted suicide and euthanasia
+ Prisoners in objecting to torture and the death penalty
+ The poor and minorities in supporting social justice issues.

God forbid that we should let their "culture of violence" mix with our "culture of violence". Because we all know that there was no "culture of violence" until they showed up **rolls eyes**
Besides, Catholic Christians were in the southern states way before they became states...Plus I don't know of any Catholic Christians that blow up abortion clinics or black churches, or belong to the KKK.

American culture is no pacifist model. Violence is not only accepted in American culture, it is even glorified - and it has nothing to do with Mexican Catholics.
