it happens when I'm active, and eventually i feel like theres something right in the middle of my knee and every time i step i feel the pain. I can still bend my knee all the way and stretch my leg out but i don't know what this pain is and it's very annoying!

You could have a torn meniscus in the knee. That is a piece of cartiladge that is in the knee joint that cushions the bones. It can feel as though someone is sticking an ice pick in your joint. Sometimes the cartilage gets caught on a piece of bone and that causes the pain. There are other things it could be, but if you're very active I think this is the most likely. Contact your doctor. Ususally the best treatment is removal of the meniscus.
