Catching The Holy Ghost

The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God. Some refer to it as the Ghost others The Holy Spirit. It is an actual manifestation in some way of God's presence in a gathering of believers. There are many ways the Holy Spirit brings His power to a meeting. It can be through someone getting instantly healed, delivered from oppression of other spirits or demons, etc. Some people can feel things like chills or warmness or a feeling of extrema Love. Some people just can't set still and will get up and dance and have even been known to roll around on the floor, thus the term Holy Roller. Praise God I am getting a strong sense of God's Spirit just talking about it. It is wonderful to have a knowing sense of God's presence. Even though God expects us to accept Him on complete faith , He will let us know He is around at times. It is quite regular to me. It has been said that Mother Teresa didn't have a personnel touch from God for the last thirty years of her life, and that she was simply acting on faith from an earlier experience. Wow, I am the type of person that likes to have Him near enough to my state of mind to be evident at all times.

Getting the Holy Ghost is the part of St. John 3:5 when our Spirits are reborn. We know when we have this when we speak in tongues. I used to think that this was far fetched until I was baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, and a few months later I asked for the Holy Ghost and got it , just like that! It is even better than feeling His presence in the assembly. Not much better mind you, but that initial infilling is the greatest high on the planet!

It is the comforter that Jesus sent that he went to heaven after he died on the cross. The holy ghost seeks out the truth, he has a lot of wisdom. The Holy Ghost is a good thing. God Bless You!

There are three parts of the trinity of God.
God, The Son of God, and the Holy Spirit of God.
When you receive Jesus as your personal savior, the Holy Spirit comes upon you and will guide you as long as you believe it.
The term catching the Holy Spirit, I have not heard before. It must be a local term for being baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Hey how can I know when the holy ghost is near

For some it is experiencing an emotional feeling of the presence and gifts of God or even "dancing in the Spirit"
For Pentecostals it is speaking in tongues or exercising one of the Gifts of the Holy Ghost(prophecy, interpretation, healing, etc) or experiencing the "Second Blessing"

It is obvious that you are talking able a church that is motivated by experiential believe. If it does not transfer to head faith it is not real.
Ask the people who use the term they are the only people who know what they are talking about.
