Both and neither.
The water is extracted from the mix along with water soluble vitamins and minerals and after being used in various ways is excreted as pee and the fiber and other solids left over are eliminated as bowel - loose bowel if you drink too much.
Of course, it takes about 12 hours for processing inside you, so "going to the bathroom has to be relative."
