I just found out that I have an unexpected event that I must attend just before Christmas. I need to drop some weight & tone up! This is very important! Is there anyone out there that would be kind enough to give me the gist of Dr. Pam Peeke's Body for life for women. I JUST have the 12 weeks. I am also in a foreign country at the moment & there are no English books I can buy. I checked Amazon.com but it would take 2 wks to get to me. The irony is that I actually already bought this book when back in the States and lent it to a friend! I know that I will never get that book back -recently found out just what kind of "friend" she was! Anyway, you would be doing a GREAT deed and you would be giving this girl a fantastic early Christmas present! I know it is a long shot, but this situation is dire. If you don't ask, you don't get! :) I need to know about the eating regime, exercises et al. To anyone who helps out, I can only say THANK YOU so, so much! I would "love" you for your kindness!

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 400-600cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day (have lots of veggies to eat in between meals if you are still hungry)
8 glasses of water -carry bottle of water with you and when you feel hungry drink it - we often confuse hunger with thirst (our bodies confuse it)
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for average of 45min, light weight training a few times a week (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, ice cream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
of course you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
take vitamins with breakfast -multi, B-complex, vitamin C, Fish or Flax oil capsules.
Two weeks before event - cut out all carbs - eat mostly just meat, fish, veggies, nuts, beans etc. It will make you lose water weight which you will probably regain back when start eating carbs again. thats what i do before big events to look as good as i can. Keep eating the same amount of calories all the time. After event (after Christmas fiest) you can continue eating normal (as i describe in the beginning)
