It seems to defeat the purpose of getting one, when all the color peels off

Your tattoo peels when it's healing because you're had your skin perforated by a needle thousands of times. The top layer of skin (which would be sloughed off anyway) comes off and a bit of the color comes away with it. "All the color" doesn't peel off - most of it is deposited deep into the layers of your skin. If you take good care of your tattoo while it's healing, the final color should not be affected at all.

Your tattoo is not coming off when your tattoo is peeling. Think about when you get a scrape or a cut. Your body forms a scab over it, that will peel or flake off on it's own when the skin underneath it is healed. Same with getting a tattoo. It's healing when it is scabbing and flaking.

If this is happening, you need to use a better tattoo artist. Or, it's quite possible that your skin is rejecting the color. I didn't really have that happen with mine. Make sure you put lots of A & D ointment on it while it's healing so it won't peel so badly.

ummmm, i have never had any of the colors peel off of my skin, other than the healing phase when the scab peals off of the skin, but that is what happens when the skin heals. i think you may be misunderstanding how the process of tattooing and what is involved.

You need to quit using henna and use ink......or quit using the tattoos you find in a Cracker Jack box.
