ok, hamburgurs are fattening, the beef patty comes from beef, but beef only eat vegetation, so how can humans get fat off of hamburgers if beef only eat vegetation?

Well, I can see a few reasons off the top of my head...

1. When you're eating beef, you're not only eating the vegetation that they eat. You're also eating fat from the animal and other various parts, such as muscle.
2. Depending on how it's prepared, other fattening things could be added to it, such as oil.

I hope that helps!!!
=)

While some beef do eat 'only vegetation,' the 'food cattle' we are sold are given things that 'boost' their growth, even BONE MEAL ... so don't think that eating 'hamburger' is a 'good thing' because they eat 'only' vegetation.
The beef get 'fat' ... their 'meat' gets larger (muscle tissue) and they add a 'fat pad' to it just as humans do ... and when we eat any 'meat' we take in not JUST the 'good' from the vegetation the animal ate, but the 'finished product.' Hamburger is USUALLY fattening, but not ALWAYS. The amount of 'fat' in the ground meat makes a HUGE difference ... ground beef that is only 7% fat is much better for you than ground beef that is 23% fat. The animal ate mostly vegetation, but it's 'body responses' created the 'fat' ... we eat both the 'meat' (muscle tissue) and the 'fat' and our body 'responds' and creates it's own by-products, which INCLUDE fat, but are not always FAT ... we get protein to build muscles, and even some 'energy' from eating meat.
Did you know that if you eat 23% fat ground beef you think that ground beef with only 20% fat tastes 'flat' and with 7% fat tastes 'really dull.' So we add things to make it taste better ... like cheese, salt, and even 'butter.' THAT is why people can get FAT from eating beef ... or anything else. I've known vegetarians and even vegans who were 'fat' (obese) because they eat 'way too much' and put 'vegetable oil' (as margarine or spread) into their food, and eat more 'rice and potatoes and corn' than they do 'green, red, or orange' vegetables, and they also tend to add WAY too much salt ...
So ... if you want to 'get slim' or stay slim, try cutting out the 'additives' like salt, sugar, BAD oils ... and eat only about 1/2 as much as you need to 'feel full' so your stomach can shrink to a more normal size ... you'll be much happier if you can do this than if you try to use a 'diet' that you can't live with for the rest of your life.

Wanted to share something with you that fits into your question. My mother (now 84) had 4-way by-pass surgery (had 4 new arteries put in around her heart because the "old" ones were all plugged up). As you probably know, salmon is very good for you - has all that nice Omega 3 oil which is good for you. Well, my mother's heart surgeon told her to eat lots of salmon - but only eat wild salmon. That the farm-raised salmon are fed corn - got that CORN - and it will raise your cholesterol!! Now, what are beef fed to fatten them up for slaughter - you got it - CORN. And what do they add to processed foods to increase their shelf life? - you got it - a corn product called high-fructose corn syrup. And that's what's in all the regular pop people drink - whether they are meat eaters or vegans. Since the high-fructose corn syrup was invented in 1957 and then refined in the 70s, it appeared in all our food in the 1975-1985 range and has been there ever since. And, if you look at the people in the timeframe before it was invented, they were much slimmer.

So, beef that has been fattened on corn can fatten you - whether you eat the fat or not. And if you don't fix your own food - buy it in a fast-food restaurant, for instance - or buy prepared foods - you get the high-fructose corn syrup - also in candy.

So, cattle that are not fed corn (and, like the other person said, steroids to make them bigger - same with chemicals to make them give more milk) and not given drugs to make bigger, are the best bet for keeping yourself healthy.

Same reason why there are lots of vegetarians out there who are overweight - your body doesn't produce fat from eating fat, it produces fat from eating high-calorie diets and sugars. Hamburger patty is a very poor form of iron and the fattier it is the more saturated fat is in it - very poor fuel for the human body. Best to eat fish, beans, and nuts for protein.

The easiest easiest way think about it is that the grass has turned into potent form when you eat beef so you are getting much more calorific food than the cow.
