i've heard that we have one of the best metro systems in the world. to me the trains in nyc aren't as bad as they used to be, i go up there every 4-5 months. but i just thought when we got the new trains they would be on every line because some of the trains on the orange/blue are as old as dirt.

They have some on the Red Line. However, they tend to put the nicer trains on the lines with the lowest ridership. But if you think that's bad you should see the trains in NYC (where I live). Some of them are 40 years old.

I've seen nicer cars on other trains. However, when Metro got the newer cars, they were put on the trains that needed them most--the Green and Yellow lines. As Metro gets more cars, it shifts the supply around to ensure all five lines have adequate trains to service customers.

Now, I hope they get more buses running on the S2/S4 line, as those get REALLY crowded.

Kyle what is that comment supposed to mean. i live on the so called "ghetto" end of the blue line which runs all the way to Va. stop with the stupid remarks.metro like any other business cares about money first, customers last. i am an avid metro rider and a Washington d.c. native born and raised so I would know of all people.

I've seen new trains on the Orange Line and Red Line, too.

well because of ridership on the other lines. not only that newer trains have lesser seats.
