that does mean good news, but your credit is still considered baby credit. You dont have alot established. treat this new credit like gold!! Dont open too many accounts because that can make you look like you have too many obligations, and then when you really need that credit for something you really want, you could be turned down. this is advise i wish i took more seriously in my younger years.

Obtaining the card itself usually is a good sign however; you should never allow your credit report to go too long without attention. This would be especially true for those with common names or actively treat with doctors.

I would order an abstract in about 6 months or so to view the progress of your credit report. It took over 4 months for Capital One to place an account on my report.

Yes but everyone has access to a free credit report once a year from all 3 reporting agencies , just go to annualcreditreport.com, It is also recommended that since you can only get one from each once a year that you spread them out at about 4 months between each. Also note that your score is not free and that there will be an additional charge for that info , but under $ 10.00 for each. If you have a credit card with WAMU they give you unlimited access to your FICO score through the web.

incredibly, being a pupil is the excellent thank you to get credit universal. each and every of the biggest mastercard agencies have classes set up for offering credit to varsity scholars that have not any credit history. additionally, if this is incredibly not your difficulty, commonly somebody like Sears, JC Penney, or different branch shops are fairly versatile approximately letting you get a keep mastercard while not having a great form of previous credit universal. you additionally can attempt gas credit enjoying cards, yet i think of maximum of them do not exist anymore. finally, a warning: be careful approximately organising credit at an identical time with somebody like a be certain. it would desire to artwork nicely, yet it additionally would desire to backfire. I had a chum who tried to try this, and his mom ruined his credit by skill of misusing the account and then not paying on it whilst she promised to. Any form of joint credit is volatile, whether you already know the guy is user-friendly, because of the fact even the nicest people have fallen on annoying situations, and there is not any telling what would desire to take place. superb of success to you. P.S. Having a solid credit history isn't almost as significant at your age as having a solid investment approach. don't get caught up in the borrower's lifestyle. Be an investor rather!

Pull your credit report and check it.

As to the credit cards, don't run up a balance. Only charge what you can afford to pay in full each month. Save on the interest and stay out of debt.

And don't loan your credit cards to anyone.

I will also recommend that you go to myannualcreditreport.com as it is a website available for anyone that wishes to check their credit history & at least you'll know if it agrees w/the activities & creditors you've accepted credit from. One piece of advice, don't accept all the offers you get on the mail as it'll show you're anxious to get credit cards & don't saturate them w/balances as it'll lower your credit score & it takes years sometime to bring it up high enough to qualify for a decent loan. Take it slowly but surely!

No,it doesn't mean your doing well.If you should receive a rejection notice on a credit application, you can send a copy of that letter to the credit bureau , and they must give you a copy of your credit report. If you want to check it out right away, you can go to your bank and they will pull up all three credit bureaus for you.
