First of all, are you pregnant? Let's assume you are not.

If my math is correct, you are gaining 7 pounds a month or over 1.5 pounds per week. You are eating, roughly speaking, the equivalent of three to four more large meals a week than you should.

If you can't drastically cut down on your eating, talk to your doctor about a referral to a dietician. If you are eating because you are depressed or bored or for some other reason, perhaps a psychologist would be helpful. In spite of the TV commercials and the magazine ads, losing weight is never easy. Stop gaining now, then focus on losing.

Are you sexually active? If so, I would get a pregnancy test even if you have been using birth control. All birth control has a rate of failure, so it is still possible to fall pregnant even if you are "protected." Sudden weight gain can also be a symptom of depression. It is possible to have the disease of depression even if you don't feel "sad."

If your pregnancy test (I would do two, actually) comes up negative, you must find a way to see your doctor. Gaining that much weight in such a short time is a real cause for concern.
