this is for tweetybird thanks for the info but hubby wont go the doctor since today is sunday he is having nose bleeds really often any suggestion on how to stop them i have tried ice and even holding his nose to putting tissue up his nose he said he will call his dr tomorrow

Call the office anyway. There will be an answering service and they will contact either his doctor or the on-call doctor. I don't think this should wait. Try to estimate how much blood loss there has already been (count the saturated tissues, save them if you have to) you may be asked. Continue with compression (pinching the bridge of the nose just below the eyes) for no less than 10 minutes continuously. Alternate with the ice pack for 15 minutes, then compression again. If you have any tampons, cut them down to fit and use them. Do this while you wait to hear back from a doctor. Get back to me when you can. If the nose bleed is getting out of hand.Get him to a clinic. They are open Sundays. Or try putting his head between his knees( I know every one usually tilt their head back)
