Example:

Yo cuento un secreto a mi amigo (I tell a secret to my friend)

Objects:

Direct object=un secreto

Indirect object=mi amigo

Explanation:

When "telling a secret" the direct object is WHAT you are telling, the secret. The indirect object is the WHO getting told the secret.
