It really depends on how important backward compatibility is to you.
If you plan on using the PS3 to play PS2 games, then I suggest you go with the 60 gb since it has the cell processor, so it has the hardware built in to play PSX and PS2 games. The 80 gb version uses software emulation to play PSX and PS2 games, and we know how well software emulation has worked for the 360.
Get the 80 gb if you think you'll need all that storage space or if you don't care about backward compatibility. Also, by the time the 80 gb drops down to 500 bucks, Motor Storm will probably not be included as part of the package, but if it does, then it's a little bonus.
Both models have Wi-Fi built in.

It's up to you but 60GB has chip so hardware in it that will let you play ps1 and ps2 games. 80GB doesn't have that because sony is cheap but it has an emulator on it that can run ps1 and ps2 games but not all of them. But if you don't want that chip and want to emulate then wait a bit longer because there are rumors that sony will disable the chip and you will be emulating on 60GB too. I think having extra hardware is nice and then got rid of only for one reason because it was expensive, its easier to emulate then actualy produce the chip. I got the 60GB because of that. And yea if you want that chip buy it now because they are miking new 40GB ps3 that will not have them and they stoped making 60 GB ps3.

I agree with TC. In addition, both of these ps3 are wireless compatible, so if you want to run your old games and still be able to play ps3 games then go with the 60gb. If you really don't care about that, then go with the 80gb model.

60GB is better with backwards compatibility - it has Emotion Engine chip from PS2. 80GB uses software instead of that chip. They both have wireless internet (wi-fi). You can always expand your HDD memory with any 5400 RPM SATA HDD. There are 250GB ones on the market.

the 60gb is better if u wanna play ur old games, plus there is a bit of memory for the nextgen games. the 80gb is better if u plan on playing the nextgen games since it has the memory, so if u don't plan on playing the old games this should be ur choice.
