If the vehicle will be operated for even a minute on public streets ,
It must be insured .
If you go down with a car carrier trailer and load the car on the trailer and tow it back ,
Then it does not need extra insurance .
If you already have drivers insurance ,
Your carrier may cover you operating other vehicles .
Call them and ask how your current coverage works .

Nationwide law.. Yes, you must have at least liability insurance for the vehicle. The Smart thing to do is have the policy in place before you pick it up.

Tigger it is not a nationwide law to carry liability insurance it is just a state law that is in 46 states. k thx
