Well, there is different kinds of soup bones. If you have neck bones with meat on them, boil, & cook covered in water, with an onion, carrots, and celery and salt and pepper for the best stock flavor, for at least 1hour and longer if possible.. Chop the veggies in large chunks, as by the time you add the rest of the soup ingredients and continue to cook the soup most of the veggies will break down. You can discard the veggies before adding the soup ingredients or leave them in for the additional flavor and nutrition. For Knuckle bones, I'd cook them longer as they ae much more dense, also, you will have more of a gelatin type of soup stock with knuckle bones. Generally, a richer broth. Same method just longer to cook, add 30 min to an hour more. If this is your first time cooking with beef bones, there will be a creamy colored bubbly stuff on the top of the water. You can skim this off or stir it in. It is actually beef protein, but looks nasty, it is up to you. Won't hurt the soup broth, but will keep it from being clear. Hope this helps.....

I use chicken bones for soup and boil for about 45 minutes in plain water and then skim the surface of the potential soup.
I then strain the whole soup at this point through a sieve, and continue from there. After tossing out the chicken bones, I add all the rest of the ingredients and cook for about another hour. If I were using beef marrow bones, I would follow the same instructions, but keep the bones in the soup. Some people like to eat the marrow from the beef bones.

Dont cook - as others have stated. It removes any nutrient value and you risk splinters and a bowel perforation. Give the dog the bone - and if he hasn't had one before, just take it away half way through and put it in the fridge - give him the remaining half tomorrow. You do this because all that fibre might give him a tummy ache - and its better to introduce a small quantity. I usually feed one bone per day - too many and they get fat. If they are bigger - no worries. The dog will chew away on it. The issue is you dont want to feed small bones that the dog might swallow hole - or sometimes they get stuck on the rear molar. Dont feed chicken or fish bones - cow knuckle bones are best or bones that are at least the size of your fist. I always supervise and keep an eye on them when they are eating - yeah, it can be messy, I put towels down.

There are basic rules for using meat and poultry bones to make a broth for soup. Roasting the bones will give you the fullest flavor. First toss your bones into a roasting pan and drizzle very lightly with olive oil, add a carrot or two, celery and at least 2 sliced onions. Roast bones in a 350* oven for about an hour until they are browned and the vegetables are charred and soft. Remove from roasting pan and add to stock pan, cover with water and some wine (white for chicken and red or white for meat) if you have it. Salt and pepper to taste. Bring to boil and simmer bones of chicken for about 1 hour to get their full flavor. Beef, lamb, pork bones can be simmered for two to three hours. Strain broth, discard bones and vegetables, now it is ready to use in your recipe. The amount of bones you are roasting determines the amount of broth. 1 lb of bones will take 4 to 6 cups of water to yield 4 to 6 cups of soup.

Bone broth is rich in healing nutrients for the damaged gut. It nourishes and is loaded with vitamins like amino acids. A lot of people lack amino acids in their diet. We need these nutrients for good intestinal health.

It will depend on the fruit or veg linked to a comparison. In the event that you compare a farreneheit to a carrot, the carrot is the better of the two nutritional. But since you compare an avocado to the carrot, then an avocado is better. Equally the apple and avocado, are fruits.
