Hi -

If I understand your question correctly, you want to set a timer to turn off your PC - that's easy. Here's how:

1.) If you're running Windows XP, go to Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> Power Options.

2.) Go to the "Hibernate" tab and and make sure the box next to "Enable Hibernate" is checked.

3.) Then, go back to the "Power Schemes" tab (the first one that came up) and use the bottom drop-down box to set the amount of time before the PC hibernates (it has options ranging from 1 minute to 6 hours).

Hope this helps!

Power options in Control Panel.

If you are referring to shutting it off at a specific time of the day, then there is no 3rd party software that I am aware of, now will Windows accomplish that.

I use a freeware called "Slawdog smart shutdown" to get mine to hibernate.
