Always write or text in proper words and sentences. This will impress someone who does not know you well -or else you just may come across as a bit of a moron. I honestly don't mean to sound condescending.
Ask him if he'd like to meet for a coffee (time and place) or go see a movie? He will like to do at least one of these, but keep the message fairly short.
Good luck :0)

Be like "Hey what's going on." Or "Good luck on your exam." Or "I can't wait to see you at school tomorrow."

If you like him and you want him to know it, then
"Hi hottie! How was *insert what ever you want, e.g. Foot ball practise?*

Since you waited so long to do it, "Hi, How have you been?" would be appropriate.
