I just answered a couple minutes ago. 3 to 4 hours and it starts at 12 noon MDT, 2:00 PM EDT.
You have to realize not many people are in this category this early on a Sunday. It's 11:10 AM EDT here.

The race record at Talladega is 188 MPH by Mark Martin. That race was run caution free in Spring of 97. That equates to 2 Hr 40min race.
Do Not plan on that happening today. Typically a 500 mile race on a Superspeedway will take approx 3 1/2 hours. Depends on number of cautions and if there is a Red Flag during the race.
With a new car, unproven on Superspeedways, and a couple rookie drivers in the field, plan on several cautions early in the race.

The track is 2.66 miles in length and the race is 500 miles or 188 laps. Average speed is about 120 mph including delays. This would mean about 250 minutes to the race or 4 hours and 10 minutes more or less. Hope this helps. Thanks for the 2 points!

500 miles of racing divided by
185 mph average speed equals
2.7 hours of racing time
1 hour added for pits and cautions
You are looking at about 3 3/4 hours once the race actually starts. There is usually around 30 minutes to an hour of pre race activities so look at allowing approximately 4 1/2 hours for the race to complete.
My answer 4 1/2 hours total allowance.

400 miles @ average of 180 mph = 2 1/4 hrs with no yellow flags. Figure 3 1/2 hours to be safe

Big race = big day!
You would smart to block off pretty much the entire day.
Btw parking, getting to the track, getting through the gate, finding the seat, watching the race with all the flags, etc, then LEAVING! Oy VAY!.
Enjoy it though! What an experience!

You can safely plan for 4 hours...usually the "big one" happens where they'll need a long yellow or even a red flag. Have fun...

Well it varies
Red flags, yellow flags, etc...
On the TV it's scheduled to last from 1pm to 5pm CST
the 1-5pm does not count the pre-race/countdown to green that's 12-1 so i hope that helps
