"King of Hearts"

A lovely, funny, serious look at what is considered "sane" vs. what is considered "insane".

* I would have mentioned "Being There" as well, but someone beat me to it.

You are taking a journey. If you want to understand a little about the journey, almost ANY movie will do .... but here are a few in which people are also taking the journey:

What Dreams May Come
Field of Dreams
Star Wars (IV a New Hope)
The Fisher King
The Blues Brothers
The Princess Bride (it is Fred Savages character that is taking the journey)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding

And about a million other movies.

Like, JUST before you die? Hmmm... I think Gremlins. Or maybe Goonies. Or "The Meaning of Life", then die right when the guy falls off the cliff (chased to his death by the topless football girls).

I always wanted Terminator 2 to be over right when his red light goes out, when he's being lowered into the molten metal. "Blink---out....roll credits" and skip that boring monologue.

For one that will give you a glimpse of the life after leaving human form, try "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams.
