I bought a fisher price hard plastic toy at a consignment shop. Its like a big mountain with roads & stuff on it. It stinks really bad (didn't notice at first) I cut a hole in the bottom & soaked it & scrubbed it with hot soapy water with baking soda. Then I soaked it with water & ammonia. It still stinks. It smells like cat pee. I'm ready to throw it away but my son LOVES this toy. Any ideas to get this smell out?

It wont fit in the dishwasher. It's about 3 ft tall. The only pet odor products I have seen are for carpets. This is hard plastic.

I would toss it. chances are, the smell is sticking because there is bacteria in the toy and you certainly dont want that around your son. He will be cranky when you take it away, but buy a NEW clean toy, and see if you can replace the old one. I would absolutely toss the toy though

Try coffee grounds. We had a crawfish sack leak onto the carpet of my truck. It got to stinking really bad. I was told by some one to spread coffee grounds all over it. It worked.

Being a plastic toy, I would try washing it in the coffee and leaving the wet grounds on it for a few days.

When we got to come back from fleeing KATRINA, my mother's fridge stunk with all the rotten food that was in there. Instead of throwing it out we washed it in the coffee and no more smell.

My home was gutted and we washed all our surviving thing in the coffee grounds.

the only way to get rid of cat pee smell is to use coffee beans!!

put it in either a black trash bag or a drak colored tote then dump in a bag of coffee beans and seal it up tight and put it some where hot like in a car parked in the sun leave it there for like 2-3days it has to get hot for a while so if its like 90 outside that will be ideal, if the temps are lower it will take longer, you may even be able to blow a hair dryer on it for a little bit to get it warmed up. then take it out and wash with hot soapy water

if that does not work nothing will

You need to find whatever neutralizes ammonia. There are products that you can use on carpeting that eliminates pet odors. One of those might work.

Try buying one of the sprays that neutralizes animal smells and spraying it with it. That might help.
