Austrailia is one of the most difficult countries to be accepted by

Most people requesting acceptance are required to have a skill and a sponser resident in austrailia.

However, that is not to say that you should'nt try and as you said you can maintain yourself so thats got to be a big yes

You should check out their government/embassey website for additional info

Good luck

Well, just what any country wants is a pensioner. That way the new country can pay for your nursing home when you get older and run out of money. You say you don't need financial assistance but that doesn't mean you won't run out of money and expect the Australian government (and its taxpayers) to pay for your hospital care and more. Stay where you are.

Australia uses a point system that makes it ver difficult for an older person to immigrate into the country. Check out their government website.

I would imagine that you will have to take a boat or plane, since it is a big island and hard to drive there or take a train.
