them, so that they miss the point of the question entirely?
Is the problem that they are still reacting as they did in the days when their mommies and daddies tried to explain something to them, or were they just coddled in school?
For example, some of America's characteristics were discussed in a question, and the answer was "What racism, what pornograpy, what gun violence? Give me an example!"
I won't tell you what he called me for mentioning these items, but the point is that he didn't even come close to getting the point of the question, so the question was completely wasted
on him. Fortunately, I find that approximately one out of ten Americans understands the question, and it is a real pleasure to get his feedback. What catastrophe happened to the other nine when they should have been growing up and learning to understand the point of a question without retreating into insults and unnecessary self-defense?

I do understand your point. But what else except to ignore the question can Americans do but defend themselves when a charge has been posted against them and they happen not to agree with it. Like the charge you're making here...As for those characteristics... The truth is, those characteristics are not unique to America, there may be more of that in America, but its going on all over the world...What about the country that gives more aid to other countries than any other country. Why not mention the good characteristics as well ?

If you have that much trouble (9 out of ten asked) you should perhaps look to yourself. Translation, perhaps the way you ask the question is offensive or misleading somehow. Communication is a 2 way street. With so many taking you wrong, you are the most likely reason why, not them, you. Ask a trusted friend or adviser for help. Make sure they are a person you admire for rational advice and not just a yes person who will say things to make you feel better. Good luck.

If you are reaching one out of ten people then you need to reconsider the layout of the question. If you think one out of ten people consistently is right, you are wrong. I might agree with 5 out of 10, but 1 out of 10 consistently nope, sorry. Americans have there own opinions and if you don't believe me just ask one. We as Americans did not get to the power level of a nation as we are by answering your question the way you want us to. We got there by having freedom of our speech and our opinions, and we take those very seriously..Thank you very much Lu Lu!!!

I agree with you. And sometimes people read too much to the question and generalize people and assume too much.
I wish we all could just ask questions and answer them without analyzing what is the agenda.
I do not mind people questioning my faith in Christ. I am ready to give the reason for my hope.

There is a Bad SPIRIT Roaming about seeking whom He may Devour! ( And He Shows His Spirit in the Middle of every Conference, Or where ever People gather to discuss any thing Of importance.) IF YOU DON'T FEEL "LOVE" THERE, YOU WILL KNOW WHO'S SPIRIT IT BELONGS TO.......

Wasn't me. I never take questions personally - that's the great thing about YA, it's an anonymous forum where you can honestly question and/or speak your mind about issues.

I have missed your point entirely. I assume the Europeans and Asians all respond appropriately to "What racism, what pornography, what gun violence?"
Can you please provide me with your "painful" truth, so I don't continue to believe that you are simply a poor writer?
