Recently I've been wondering if I'm experiencing a religious vocation. I've been praying about it and waiting to see what happens. Last night at the Festival of Praise (which was bloody awsome) I was drawn to the nuns. While standing/sitting/kneeling and praying, praising and worshiping God I wanted to be near them. Not even talk to them, just be around them while I was praising God.

I think that might have been the answer to my question, but Im not sure. This summer I'll be living amoungst nuns, do you think Ill know then if not now?

Well anytime you open yourself up to live a particular lifestyle you can usually judge whether it is for you or not after a relatively short period of time.Best of wishes to you for whatever path life leads you down.

I John 2:15-17 "Love not the world, nor the things which are in the world. If any man love the world, the charity of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, is the concupiscence of the flesh, and the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life, which is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the concupiscence thereof: but he that doth the will of God, abideth for ever. "

All of us are called to be "religious," that is, "to bind" ourselves to God. We are all called to keep the Two Great Commandments, the Ten Commandments, and the Six Precepts of the Church, and to assent to the Church's teachings.
But some of us are called to bind ourselves to God in a special way, to go beyond the "minimum requirements" and to seek the higher path -- the path of perfection.

God bless you on your journey.

If you felt anything while you were being drawn to the nuns, if the experience uplifted you, then yes it may well be an answer. Keep praying, walk in faith, and God will continue to show you the right path.

I'm sure you can get to know better over the summer. As Jesus said, try it out if want to know if this is my father's doctrine (or something like that). Though I would say try something at least for a year, that way you can experience it with each season of the year and each season of your mind.

If your heart leads you in that direction . By all means follow it . At one time I thought I would have made a great priest . I realized it was my tolerance of other peoples faults and not my belief in a higher power that brought me to that conclusion . You wont know if you don't try .

Give it time. If it's real for you, it will stay real. If it's just a romantic notion, you will become disillusioned.

Time. You really need to give it time.
