Ok so a me and a pal of mine use to use our 8th grade biology books as "bullet proof vests". One of use would hold the book in front of us and let the other shoot the book with a 22lr.

Yeah, its stupid and there were a few close calls. But you should have seen the look on the biology teachers face when he demanded we bring in our books, so we brought them and told him what we did lol

Anyone else THAT stupid when they were in their teens?

Please no lectures, I know it was stupid... just want to share some stupid stories

I was born and raised in the Ouachita mountains, Arkansas.

Still live here today.

We also had a plywood platform about 15 feet up in a tree. We would build a fire under it to keep us warm, and on occasion we would throw some 22 bullets into the fire and listen to them hit the underside of the plywood.

Ahh, to be a stupid kid.

God definately looks out for me and I definately have more than 9 lives. By age 18 I had already totalled 5 trucks and one car.

Hey folks, I got my fair share of switchings.

I grew up on 200 acres so it wasnt hard to get out of sight and pull of crazy stunts

We shot the first biology book simply for fun and when we realized that it didnt penetrate. well, you know what happened next.

I was taught safety but come on. What lame teenager dosent push the limits? How boring were some of you guys!

Of course. I just thank God (literally) that no one got hurt because of my selfish stupid decision to go to a defensive driving class drunk! That is right up there, 5 stars stupid! Boy, I am so glad God forgives me. Thankfully, I've been clean and sober since May 7, 2003. I usually was cautious and not too reckless, but once in a while my dumb*** streak hit and I pulled something bad. I have lied, and stolen in my past. I've hurt people who were good to me and trusted monsters. I'd say I'm pretty ordinary this way. Most folks pull something stupid once in a while. If you are taking a poll because you've done something you regret....Do what you can to make it right, apologize or whatever, then move on. Forgiveness is very important; If not we just tend to keep repeating mistakes!!!

This has absolutely nothing to do with hunting, does it?

On the farm where we grew up there was a huge septic tank that had apparently never been connected or used. It had a concrete lid about eight feet across and a foot thick with a ten inch hole in the center for pumping or inspection I suppose. We used to light corn husks and other debris to drop in there to see how far down the bottom was. About twenty feet by the way. Eventually we got the idea to pour some gasoline down there so it would burn longer and we could see inside better. Didn't work quite like we thought but the explosion and flame that shot out the hole were impressive. Only lost a little arm and eyebrow hair. After that we figured out the fuel/air mix and used it to launch objects that we set over the hole. I quit fooling with it after I dumped several gallons of gas in and caused the big lid to lift about a foot off the foundation before it fell back.

For all the things I've done I can honestly say I've never done anything that stupid. Though My brother and I used to mess around with black powder. One night we were burning some bees out of a piece of lumber, we could still hear buzzing after the first go round, so we tried a second dose. Jim flipped the fresh 1lb can into the air at first sign of ignition. Neither of us were hit by anything, except of course the ground. I found part of the can in the woods about 30 yards away. I should note here that I was pre-teen at the time.

But, hold up a book and let some guy try to shoot through it.

That pretty much tops any of my stupid stunts firearm related. Did the .22 shells in a fire, made some zip guns out of antennas, had bb gun wars without goggles, made bombs out of sparklers, but I think yours definately tops those.

About the closest I came to anything like that was when we would get our dirtbikes and do train racing. We would ride along the dirt roads that paralleld the tracks and jump the tracks just in front of the train. The conductor would be pissed, leaning on the horn and yelling out the window at us. When my cousin actually got nicked by the train and broke his collar bone, we gave it up. Not sure if that was as stupid, but it's definately close!!

Well I must admit i 've done one stupid thing when it comes to guns I was taught safety by my father who had many citations from the army as he was a shapshooter in a rifle squad
so he taught me about plugged up barrels etc.
anyway i was 14 i think and me and my brother were out hunting and i found this frog so i put it into the barrel of a 12gauge shotgun aimed straight up in the air to see how far the frog would go up well needless to say i blew up about 3 inches of the front of the barrel, but i thought if the barrel was'nt packed tight that is to say the gases could escape around the frog there would'nt be a problem could'nt have been more wrong anyway got my *** kicked real good because dad said you're lucky you did'nt blow your head off.never tried that again!!!telling this story so if you teach kids about safety make sure to go in depth with different scenarios to make sure kids understand as i said before my dad did teach me about obstructed barells but i assumed as long as gas escapes no problem and my dad thought that a kid would never do that thats what i mean by in-depth

Worst things as a kid : I drove my kawasaki 90cc dirtbike everywhere - local streets, thru developements, on private property, was nearly run over once by a car on it . I took it everywhere - thru streams, gravel pits, mud - once the town had a huge gravel pile in the local pit for road resurfacing, i got it in my head i could climb it with the kawa - i tried more then 10 times to get up it - each time literally nearly falling backward down it - but, finally made it up to the top, drove back down n kept trying to climb it again.
Ive long since sold the dirtbike - now im building a highly modifed lawntractor , currently runs in the 40mph zone , but im aiming for 60mph sprints with more extensive mods. Thats just the first one , the next will be totally modified.... and now im alot older.

Well, I'm still a kid and have never done anything like that!
But my dad said when he was a kid he and a friend would stand on opposite sides of a football field and shoot arrows at each other, and try to dodge them!
(He also filled a mustard jar with Black Powder and detonated it 30 feet away from him, it apparantly shreaded all vegitation around but somehow missed him!)

While having dinner with friends, who only knew me as an older adult (as opposed to a young stupid adult), this very question came up. Individual answers from the group dictated mine. I said: "while thinking very carefully about this, I realized that my initial answer would be immediately superseded by the fact that I admitted such things in public."

each of these "stories" brought and OMG to my lips but i can top all of these stupid stunts. When i was in High School and early college, i would drink and drive. I thank the Lord i never hurt anyone . I still shudder thinking about what i did.

Not as bad, but me and my bro did some really dumb things. lol. I'm six years older so I came up with all the stupid ideas and he (without question) performed them lol. Once I made him wear a life jacket as a bulletproof vest and shot him with a co2 rifle.....then shot him in the *** lol. One time I really almost crapped myself when I thought I shot his eye out with a home made bow&arrow. Ahhh, the good old days. And to this day it's still an issue to who really lit the napkin on fire in the kitchen after mom and dad found out lol.
