Not much -- he really didn't do much of anything the messiah should do. In particular, there is no peace on earth. Besides, the idolatry (or self-idolatry) of his claims of godhood would be a red flag from the start.

Beyond that, his basic thesis is self-contradictory. To believe in him you have to believe absolute contradictions.

For example, Jesus's claims, whether or not you consider them strong claims, all rested on the Jewish bible as the authentic word of God. But for Jesus to be right, God had to be lying originally in the bible, when He says the bible, its laws, and the covenant are eternal, because Jesus claimed to undo all that. So whatever doubts I may have about my own religion, one thing I can be sure of is that Jesus was not what he or his followers claim he was.

It's much more likely that Hinduism or Zoroastrianism or animism or paganism has it right, because they don't (as far as I know) tie themselves in knots of self-contradiction regarding the logic of the foundation of their religions.

The messianic prophecies have been very sparkling. enable's in basic terms evaluate the commonly happening attractiveness of the messiah. considering the fact that Jesus grew to become into speculated to have been right here, two times as many people globally reject Jesus as settle for him. not sufficient? worldwide peace grew to become into to have been universal, yet considering the fact that Jesus' day, we've had opposite of this. How with regard to the prophecy that stated the messiah would be human, not some guy/god hybrid? There are massive lists of unfulfilled prophecies - you are able to seem for them while you're actual curious. upload to this the reality that there is not any corroborative info Jesus ever existed, not to point out fulfilled even ONE prophecy, and it incredibly is fairly sparkling why there is conflict of words. what isn't sparkling is how all of us would desire to purchase it in the 1st place.

I have thought about it, but in all honesty it dose not make sense.

The bible describes what the messiah was supposed to do, namely bring world peace and re-establish the level of sanctity that was lost after the Babylonian exile.

Jesus did not do this, no one yet has. If Jesus was the messiah then he was a failed messiah at that.

If the gospel tale of his birth is true as christianity holds, then Jesus would have been considered a mamzer under Jewish law and completely unfit for the messiah. Besides the fact that he fulfilled none of the messianic prophesies.

With that in mind, why should any consideration be given to him in that regard?

for about 5 seconds. then the fact that the messiah has obviously not come, comes to mind, and theres no more issue.

you see, the function of the jewish messiah is entirely different than what christians belive jesus was.

for example, part of what the messiah does, is usher in an age of world peace and universal knowlege of God.

... this has obviously not occured.

The Hebrew Bible is about separating the holy from the profane. Judaism is about bringing holiness into our lives and NOT blindly following the majority.

Violence and terror reigned at the time of Revelation at Sinai. From God's 613 commandments, we learn that we are NOT to behave like surrounding cultures.

We are not to tear a limb from a living animal.

We may continue to sacrifice grains, oils, incense, and little critters, but NEVER a human being.

We may continue to have kings, but our kings must be accountable to God just as the lowest of the society. The lowest of the society must be treated with the same loving kindness as any other member of society.

Our leaders are to be chosen for their abilities and justice to others, NOT from divine right.

Above all else, we will NOT create gods from human beings.

Jesus doesn't meet the requirements for Messiah. He wasn't from the tribe of Judah on his father's side. He was actually from the tribe of Levi, making him perfectly unfit for the Messiah role. He also didn't fulfill the Messiah's role and rebuild the Temple of Jerusalem.
Believe me, your guy isn't the Jewish Messiah.

There has been in this country for a number of years an organization called "Jews for Jesus." This organization is comprised of people who do believe that Jesus was the Messiah.
