well, if you are aiming for not expensive vacations, either to Thailand or Indonesia, but the two places are kinda corrupted, so there's a slow traffic, but plenty of tourists' attraction in Thailand and Indonesia. Thailand have plenty of buddhist temples to see, food to taste, though you would still need to be in a small group to be safe, plenty of money panderers. Indonesia have plenty of natural sites, like waterfalls, mountains, lakes, and such, though usually foreigners limitted themselves to Bali and Jakarta, since Bali is the highest region to ever hold a large number of foreign tourists.
If you are aiming for comforts, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Japan, and Hong Kong are nice and quite comfortable. The prices are not too steep in Malaysia and China. While Hong Kong and Singapore are quite expensive. Japan is very expensive. There are plenty of tourists' hotspots in every countries mentioned above, though it would take a long time for me to list them. You can ask your travel agent for which is more applicable to your tastes.
I have never been to any other Asian countries.
As it is, travel precautions should still be taken, like malaria shots, dysentry safety measures, etc. since asia is hot and humid most of the time, at least those that are in the vicinity of the equator, i.e. India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Phillipines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand.

i certainly agree with cobra.maldives was a heaven sent location for our honeymoon.beautiful beaches and so quiet and calm.we really enjoyed our fortnight there.you feel like you are on the island like the cast of the blue lagoon.but this was in 2003 b4 the tsunami.now i believe its not advisable.
you could try india, and i believe kerala is good.all the other southeast countries i really dont want to advise to go as bcoz of the tsunami.
My safest bet if you are into beaches and sun and sand would be mauritius.
anyways happy honey moon-ing!!

the amanpulo resort in palawan, philippines..it's the most exclusive resort in the country, hence it's pretty expensive but every penny will be worth it..the said resort actually belongs to the "Aman group of resorts" which specializes in the most luxurious destinations...the likes of mariah carey, tom cruise and nicole kidman have actually visited and stayed in the resort...
