I am a metallurgical engg. student stdying in 3 rd year at jadavpur university
what shold i opt for.......
1.take software jobs
2.take core sector job
3.go for higher studies

Depends on your financial status, your inclination for further studies and how well you enjoyed your course so far. If you really enjoyed the metallurgical subjects, and are doing well, you can think of going for higher studies either in India or abroad.
If you need a job, software jobs are easily available (I guess you have campus placement) and are high-paying compared to core sector jobs. If you are thinking of joining a core sector, it is better to do post graduation.

I suggest that you must complete your Masters degree first if you are not hard pressed for earning immediately. After that you will be in a better position to decide whether to go for more higher studies or take a job and type of job.
