How many people know that Jews were banned from Jerusalem until the Muslims took over ?

The Islamic conquest at the time of Umar ibn al-Khattab [638 AD] put an end to centuries of instability, religious persecution, and colonial rule. After the advent of Islam, people enjoyed security, safety, and peace- with the exception of the period of the Crusades (1099-1198). There was scholarly activity on a wide scale. It was a center of learning from which a large number of scholars graduated. It enjoyed the care of the Khalifas and the Muslim rulers.

Jews returned to the City only when the Muslims took over and opened it to all believers. In other words, Jerusalem was not an exclusive city during Muslim rule. For example, the arrival of Umar in Jerusalem marked the start of a golden age and the beginning of a new era during which the City became an open city for all the nations, a city for justice and peace.

Umar was "faithful to the Islamic inclusive vision. Unlike the Jews and Christians, Muslims did not attempt to exclude others from Jerusalem's holiness" and instead of excluding these religions in Jerusalem, "Muslims were being taught to respect them.

"From the first, Muslims showed that the respect of sacred space did not have to mean conflict, enmity, killng, and exclusion of others...From the start, the Muslims developed an inclusive vision of Jerusalem which did not deny the presence and devotion of others, but respected their rights and celebtrated plurality and co-existence. This inclusive vision of holiness is sorely needed by the people of Jerusalem today." **

** Karen Armstrong "Sacred Space: the Holiness of Jerusalem,"

Muslims Ruled Jerusalem for over 1200 years and were able to establish peaceful co-existance between all the faiths.

Salahuddins recapturing of Jerusalem is infamous because of the Islamic forgiveness and amnesty he showed the Crusaders.

Were the Jewish and Muslim Scientists of Islamic Spain the catalyst for the Renaissance in Europe ?

Muslims, Jews and Scientists from Europe created a cosmopolitan society of peace and mutual co-existance in the Islamic Spain (Andalus).

Islamic scholars of Religon (Mullahs,Imams,Ulama) were also scientists since the Quran encouraged the Muslims to look into science to see the power of God.

Muslim and Jewish scholars along with some Heretic Christians or "enlightened" scientists created a "JEWEL" in Europe.

Science, Mathematics,Astronomy, Philosphy etc. were discussed and studied with all three faiths living in harmony and peaceful coexistance.

This islamic attitude to science, mathematics and learning was so foreign in Europe that it was considered heresy and blasphemy.

This got the Christians so UPSET they hunted down all the Muslims/Heritics and converted them by force or killed them.

The Church was so fanatically against free thought and scientific research that they blamed the Renaissance on Islam.

In revenge for undermining the awesome power of the Church (and planting a seed for Europe to emerge out of the Dark Ages) ,the Pope killed or baptised by force all the Muslims (and Jews) in Spain.

Then the Church along with loyal Kings started the Crusades to make sure Islam would not reach any further into Europe with their "heretical views".

The Islamic view of One God, no original sin, and the belief that there should be NO Religious hierarchy and NO organized church was a total slap in the face of Christiandom.

-----------

“The Renaissance of Europe did not take place in the 15th century. Rather it began when Europe learned from the culture of the Arabs. The cradle of European awakening is not Italy. It is the Muslim Spain.” (Robert Briffault, The Making Of Mankind)

“The Christian World came to wage crusades against Muslims but eventually knelt before them to gain knowledge. They were spellbound to see that Muslims were owners of a culture that was far superior to their own. The Dark Ages of Europe were illuminated by nothing but the beacon of Muslim Civilization.” (F.J.C Hearushaw, The Science of History.)

“The greatest crimes, the greatest “sin” of Mohammed in the eyes of Christian West is that he did not allow himself to be slaughtered, to be “crucified” by his enemies. He only defended himself, his family and his followers; and finally vanquished his enemies. Mohammed’s success is the Christians’ gall of disappointment… He did not believe in any vicarious sacrifices for the sins of others.” (Edward Gibbon, Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.)

People will never live together in peace while there is "religion" . Paganism is the peaceful tolerant path where people respect all life as God given and care for the Earth and animals. If we can all learn to care for our world and each other - then we might survive as a species. Unfortunately millions prefer to fight about who is right and who is wrong and are willing to kill or die to prove their point. The Human Race isn't intelligent enough to live in peace.

To have a humble heart! A humble heart towards God and Lord Jesus Christ. Obeying, trusting and relying on God alone! Learning, studying and meditating in His Holy Words (make sure the acceptable translation. For some translated and other versions, were used by the translators (lie of the devil), for their own benifit and interest, usually business interest!).
To asks wisdom from God; James 1:5.
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.
1Pe 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Then surely and truly peace will be upon the face of earth. Amen.
AMEN.

You know, if you look at the basic tenants of every religion, they all say the same thing--just in different words. It's people who muck things up with their pride and ignorance saying,"My religion is true and your religion is false."

So, I guess there is no *one* religion that fits your question; they all do. Now, if we could only get the followers of each religion to practice what their belief system teaches...

May all be at peace.

Secular Humanism. Not a religion, but arguably more peaceful than any mainstream religions. Learn from history, evidence and reasoning, not idealizing and 'prophecies'. Religion has had it's chance, 2000 years of quarrelling, propaganda, burning, toruring, stoning, killing, suppression of reason and education, hate-mongering, war and promises of 'Armageddon'. Like statism and fascism, it has had it's day. May people choose wisely.

True Christianity. However finding a RELIGION that best represents that may be a difficult task, like passing a rope through the eye of a needle.

Religion is not the only solution. A personal relationship with God is the most important step toward salvation. This does not happen in groups, since salvation is an individual reward from our Heavenly Father. Share your knowledge with you family, so they can also participate in helping spread the Good News of God's Kingdom to others.

short answer: No, that's not what God demands persons. sure, Jehovah needs us to be non violent with one yet another. "Ppl of all religions" No. that's not the way of the actual {Jehovah} God in any respect. Jesus stated there is "one, Lord, one faith, one baptism." So, then all (diverse) religions "stay jointly in peace" not obtainable...won't take place. Jehovah meant guy to worship Him, and Him on my own. Brings to my strategies the dream of the statue; the ft. grew to become into that Daniel's dream? Taoism - Confucianism - Buddhism in that order, probably. They're the best peace-based religions.
