What do you mean by "believe in"He must have believed in existense of devil, that does not mean that he liked or respected or trusted on devil.

The point is that the devil believes that Jesus Christ is who he claims to be and he trembles. The devil will do anything in his limited power to get us to not believe in Jesus.
