Of ALL the flea control products for dogs, which works the best for your pets? Please tell me your good and bad experiences with different flea control products. I'm kind of torn between a few of the leading products (frontline, advantage, revolution) and want to know what your experiences have been with different products. Whats good? Whats bad? Why?

Thanks so much!

i have tried many on my little dog Alfie and most don't work, then i tried front-line on him and it worked wonders, it 100% works and my mother uses that on her german shepard. Its worth the money, it lasts for about 6weeks a time sometimes longer i got a 3month packet and i have run out so i have got to do him again. In the summer he got fleas and frontline got rid striaght away, and he has never had any since. I have spent alot of money on flea shampoos sprays ect and most are a waste of money. Good luck but i really think you should try it. All the best.

Hi there, you most definetely will get conflicting results on this question but here it goes :) Through the years they have found that both advantage and frontline are good products. But one thing is that if your dog has underlying skin conditions, frontline may actually bring them out. Advantage is a very safe medication and you could actually apply it every week if you had to. This varies from frontline which you can not reapply that soon. Also If you have a extremely heavy load of fleas, both products will work but you will still notice fleas after 2 weeks due to the huge population and because of new hatchings. Therefore if you do then you will have to treat your environment and even then unfortunetly it still may take up to 6 months to get control of the infestation. I would not recommend using revolution as a flea product, it does take care of fleas and heartworms, but as studies go, it has been found to be an unreliable source of heartworm prevention, so you are better off going with advantage or frontline. Hope that helps, the best situtation is to always PREVENT before you develop a problem! :)

Frontline, Advantage and Revolution are all equally good, it just depends what you want really, if you want worm protection or tick protection. Frontline Plus has a slight edge for flea control because it's the only one of the lot that kills the eggs and pupae as well.

Just choose between these 3 - or Advocate, that's another good veterinary one - and disregard anything that's sold in pet shops.

I even have have been given to assert that the two Frontline or K9 Advantix (which additionally kills ticks) is your ultimate wager. I stay in a community which could have fleas 3 hundred and sixty 5 days around (except we've a no longer basic freeze) and that they are the only issues that artwork. $10 or so a month isn't that undesirable for a flea-unfastened environment. in case you get them on your place you're transforming into a actual project!!

I've always used advantage on my dogs and have simply never had a problem. Thats reason enough for me to keep buying the product.
