Nope. The idea of sharing ideas comes from the fact that we all think we're right. Without sharing these ideas, or trying to convince somebody else of their merit, you'll never come upon the truth. One person, no matter how smart they are, can possibly understand all of anything on their own.

Edit:
firefightermichelle: It also means no interplay of ideas. Sure, likeminded people can discuss their beliefs and progress, but without a devil's advocate, somebody throwing in a dissenting opinion, the logic will be circular and unproductive. We need diversity of opinion, thoughts, and ideas in order to truly progress. It's so easy to narrow-mindedly assume that the person is only referring to the Crusades and Inquisition, and in fact, they might be. But the point is that this diversity of opinion is more utilitarian and goes beyond the scope of this minor argument. If we just believed whatever, we'd still be a feudal nation. We wouldn't try to change the government and make ourselves a democracy because we believe whatever and they believe whatever. Conflict is necessary for progression, else there will be stagnation and decay.

So if you believe that child molestation is wrong, you have no right to impose that belief on someone else who you know is molesting children?

The world does not become a better place when we ignore crime. Criminals need to be stopped. By force if necessary.

Your policy could only work if everyone was perfect. In reality, no one is perfect and your policy would fail miserably.

Yes . I have never imposed what i believe on others. You only create resentment which is worse than not imposing in the first place.People believe what they want to believe so it is no good trying to change their minds.Go and spread the "good news"might have worked two thousand years ago,but not today.People have more "important" things to do so trying to convert them is useless.God's Mother,Mary told the Seers "I cannot heal, only God can,i need your prayers and sacrifices to help me.The only word i wish to say is - CONVERSION,to the whole World.I am saying this to you to tell everybody.I ask only for conversion. Give up everything that goes against conversion. There are many believers who do not pray - faith cannot be alive without prayer. Please pray to Jesus,I am his mother and i intercede for you to him.But all prayer goes to Jesus.I will help.I will pray ,but everything does not depend only on me.It depends also on your strength and those who pray.

Oh heck yes. "without imposing it on others" doesn't mean groups of like-minded people can't sit around and share their beliefs with one another. Imposing it on others leads to Crusades, Jihads, and Grand Inquisitions. Not to mention abortion clinic bombings, eradications of whole peoples, and pointless arguments!

if you are just thinking of this life...you can do everything you want to make you succed or happy...there is no right and wrong...but if you believe that there is a life after death...and there is a God who gave you the breath of life....you may think his promises...after you suffer by his trials....and his promises will be granted ..

So true. If each one did their own thing and minded their own business, instead of meddling in others affairs at any cost.
