How do bands tour?

How do bands tour? By buses? If theyre touring with multiple bands, do they share a bus? Is the bus different from normal buses? Do they have toilets, showers, bedrooms, kitchens etc.

Is it like a trailer?

Depends on the band, who much they earn and how much they travel.

Many starting bands are already happy if they can afford a cranky old school bus or van that is just big enough to put some sleeping bags in at night.
Others use better buses, up to the top of the market with bathrooms with Jacuzzis and all else you can want.
Most will be somewhere in between.

And other bands will use the bus only as means of transportation and stay in hotels, the better paid the band the more expensive the hotel.
For some it is business class flights, limousines and top hotels only.

But bands will almost never share their own bus with an other band that does the same tour, as all bands have buses that are just right for them, and mostly they have a lot of personal belongings in them too. But some bands are known to give rides (and all else they want) to groupies ;-)
