The new Ps3 has only got Two usb ports, The old one has four, What do you need four for?

Even if you only had one you could plug in an inexpensive USB hub and plug in as many devices as you like - USB supports up to 127 ISTR.

So, having four on the fascia is just Sony overdoing it a bit IMO. Don't forget the PS2 only had one. I use my PS3 extensively and have never used more than two USB sockets simultaneously.

Not much, to be honest.
I only use mine for charging the controllers, but the new eyetoy is out soon, and no doubt the mic. and guitar hero controllers may need them, but not all at once.
The only drawback I could see with the new PS3 is no PS2 backwards compatibility at all (saying that, i've had mine since launch and the only PS2 game i've played on it was PES6 (mainly because there hasn't been a PES game out for it till this month), and i also still have my PS2 should the need arise.
