So if a group does charity to try to help another group of people they are now oppressing and wishing for that group to stay downtrodden????

What kind of logic is that????

Bashing on people now because they do charity work. What is next? Do you so hate evangelicals that nothing they do is ever going to be good enough for you?

That's a terrible idea. There are many christian organizations as well as secular that are bending over backwards both to help with immediate physical needs as well as trying to change politics.

Christians don't earn brownie points for conversions. But their faith makes them want to share the good news that there is hope beyond the physical needs. But they don't refuse to help if they don't convert or even listen. There's no requirement to listen to a preacher before being fed.

There is plenty of third world needs in Appalachia which is mostly christian faith yet they do way too little there. Not because they are already converted but because so few realize how great the need is. Africa is in your face all the time. But it also requires more action on politics you can't influence so readily.

So why would they want to spend & risk more just for a few conversions. If there African & muslim brothers did more the christians wouldn't even be needed. The Lord's way was always to meet the physical need first & regardless of the outcome. When He fed the 5,000 not all converted. But they were still fed.

Ah, so if they don't convert, they are not given food?

Use your head. They are GIVEN help. Where is the help from YOUR "evangelicals"? I hope you realize this isnt a tug-of-war to win the most believers. This is NOT a competition. That's what people like you will never understand.

Charity comes from the heart. Perhaps if you understood that, you wouldn't be using that whole "Africans only convert to Christianity for food" theory which is puked on you at the mosque.

That is truly an unbelievable question. Christians want the Gospel message spread to all the world. We gate suffering, but will help out when ever we can. Its much easier to evangelize a country that is stable and there is not starvation. Why don't the atheists form a group and go to the starving in Africa to help?

Do you really think Evangelicals or anyone else for that matter, think about Africa enough to have a strategic policy to keep them down?

not only evailangelicals everybody wants to keep africa unstable for political benefits.
christian missionaries are first messengers of western forces.they go first to institunalise th local population and make it docile with false beliefs like jesus hell heaven.once they become docile, military or corporations take over.and the cycle continues.it is going on from last five hundred yrs

Whoah! Your question is waaaaay off! I'm living in Africa and what you are saying is truly outrageous! I'd like to know where you got that thought? Anyway, Jesus fed lots of people and evangelized too. People in need are more receptive to many things because they are in a humble position, not because they are 'stupid'.

I think the Africans themselves do a good enough job of keeping Africa unstable, they don't need any help from the evangelists.

It's not fair to place that stigma on all Christians, just those in control, and other faith leaders who exploit Africa's suffering for religious reasons.
But yeah, I'm absolutely sure that religious leaders do exploit that.

Well, Christians pretty much raped that continent in the 18th-19th centuries. Christians owe it to the Africans to support them, not evangelize.
