I believe that everyone has "down days" no matter how devout they are to their religion.

How do you know when you are in a spiritual rut and how do you bring yourself out of it?

This question is open to atheists as well... I want lots of perspective here.

On a normal day, I'm a joker, light-hearted, sarcastic, humorous. On a bad day, anything but!
I'm an Earth sign, Pantheist, all I have to do is go outside to a quiet spot, sit, ground, center and reconnect.

When your mind is all boggled up with different emotions and you feel like the life is not worth living for, you're lacking spirituality.

There are a lot of ways to become spiritual again.

1. Read The Quran , but dont just read it to read it, read it with commentary to understand the full meaning of everything.

2. Go to a mosque, just sit in the back while others are praying because you dont really know how to pray, see if you find peace with that.

3. Try meditation. Try to wake up early in the morning and catch the morning rays, and close your eyes and sit in one place, clear your mind with all the thoughts and just remember God

Well if you are Christian I would say get into the bible, read some psalms or proverbs. And just pray and pour out your heart to God. God is faithful to heal and comfort. Ask him to help you in your walk. And do this in a peaceful place so you can focus not on the outside world, but solely on the word.

If you arent Christian, read some proverbs and pray to God to come into your heart. God is the greatest comforter of all. I will pray for you as well.

I take it day by day I use the past as guideline for the now and I plan for the future. I don't have anything in it that I would call spiritual in my life. I think that people think they have to have it in their lives. As long as I have people in my life that love me I don't need much more than that .

DO THE WILL OF GOD
You need to find a home church, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 - 18)

Everybody has ups and downs. When I'm down I turn to my friends and family. I don't look for - or need - guidance from "above".

I wait. Eventually, my mood or situation will change, or something will distract me, or I will puzzle myself out of my philosophical funk. If you can train your patience to outlast your whimsy, you are just so much closer to happiness.
