Your argument is logical. You must also admire the smartness of people who exploited his death to establish a full fledged religion and control them for ages to come.

Why Jesus died For Us
He is our sacrificial lamb who shed his blood to cover your sins: past, present and future. If not he died at the cross in vain. He full filled (Luke 24: 44) and nailed the 10 commandments to the cross (Colossi ans 2:14). Christ did not die in vain (Galatians 2: 21). The spirit or the works of the law (Galatians 3: 2). Christ is the end of the law (Romans 10: 4). The law is our tutor no more (Galatians 3: 24 – 25). God will remember your sins no more (Hebrews 10:17). You are a sinner for life, there is nothing that you can do not to sin (1 john 1: 7 - 10). You can not go out into the world and do what ever you wish, just because Jesus covered your sins (Romans 6: 1 - 3). Hebrews 8: 7 – 13 (he wrote the laws into their hearts, so that you would know right from wrong.
If you have faith in Jesus and are obedient to God, then you are not under the 10 commandments.
If you do not believe in Jesus, then you are under the 10 commandments, now you need to bring your unblemished goat to the alter every year and sacrifice it to cover your sins but with Jesus, he is our new covenant.
You are justified by faith and not of your works

Before Jesus came in the flesh, we are told that sinners who repented WERE saved by faith in the substitute slayed animal sacrifices outlined by God. And like those of today, they had to stop sinning (that's what repenting means). The actual atonement, however, took place with perfect timing when Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice these animals prefigured. So before Jesus came, the people looked FORWARD to the cross while those after, look BACK to the atonement on the cross. Therefore, in a way, you're right: it is the same for those who repent of their sins. For those who don't, there is no sacrifice or heaven. It really wouldn't have mattered when God would have chosen to send Jesus to earth but being gracious as He is, He gave mankind all the prophecies needed to help man recognize the true Messiah and prove, once again, that God keeps His promises regarding salvation and judgments. He couldn't have made these any clearer.

How do you explain the prophesies that foretold the coming of the Messiah with the fact that all came true - 100%. The statistical probability of that happening is 1 in 13 trillion. You do not seem to be questioning why Jesus died. You gave seemingly correct info about why certain people chose to crucify him. But he did not die FOR the greed of the leaders but BECAUSE of it, and IN SPITE of it. One of the questions to consider lies in why he chose to stay on the cross. He rose three days later, with that power why even stay on the cross? It was not the nails that held Jesus to the cross but his love for you and me (that is not original me, but something that was brought to my attention years ago and I have never forgotten it). Why are so many intent on dispproving the Bible? Has the Bible become that threatening to those around us? You may want to read The Case for Christ, written by a man whose mission was to set out to prove the Bible untrue only to be come a Christian.

you seem to know your history. Your right about some things. Jesus was murdered and jesus did bring fear to leaders of rome. Even King herod feared him before he was even born, which is why he sent his troops to go kill all kids 2 years and under, in an attempt to kill Jesus.
However the whole reason he was sent into this world was because he came to pay the sins of all man kind. If not for my sin and yours then He would have never had to even come here.
You have a right to believe what you want, but I think the fact that you posted this and with the tone you used is almost like your saying hey I know all they answers. I think you need to understand that these arguments that you always see in these chat rooms are pointless. They will never solve anything. All they do is get people to fight. God bless you and I hope you find comfort in his son before you die and its to late.

well, I am pleased to see that you have such a firm and unambiguous stranglehold on reality. (gentle sarcasm) i have been studying this stuff since I was kid and I still don't have it all figured out.
It is true that Jesus was tried by a Roman court, was given a Roman execution. The concept of having to die for our sins is hard for me to wrap my mind around. but..if the accounts of what Jesus preached are accurate, Jesus advocated the paying of taxes, non-violence, forgiveness, and co-operation with the Roman regime. Some of the radical militant Jews Jesus counted among His followers may have been a threat, but Jesus would have been more of a calming influence on them than a threat to Rome. IMHO

Leave the Christians alone. Why did you poke the sleeping wolves. Now they have a reason to quote the bible and tell you that you are going to hell and that Jesus loves you. Did you know that Pontious Pilot became a Christian couple of years after sentencing Jesus to death?

According to the Bible the roman ruler tried to get the crowd to kill a real criminal instead of Jesus, but the Jewish crowd wanted Jesus killed.
The romans didnt care too much about Jesus.
The death of christ was only part of the atonement. The majority of it happened in the garden of gethsemene. It finished with the ressurection.
I dont know why people focus on the death of christ when it comes to the atonement. He didnt die in a significant way. Many people were tortured just as bad, if not worse than Jesus.
I think people should refocus on his life and his sacrifices in the garden where he was in so much pain that it states he bled from every pore. The crucifixion was just a small part of the atonement.

That is your take on the Bible and I respect it. I do not agree with it though. If Jesus was 'set-up' to die- why was it foretold of His death long before He died? And if you seem to believe that Jesus was alive and everything and can use the Bible- why not accept it all? Not pick and choose what you like. Just curious. Peace

Jesus is God, and Jesus is also sinless.
One without sin is NOT liable to die, so no one could have taken Jesus' life unless he permitted it.
Jesus came to die for the sins of mankind. He announced his intention at least 2000 years in advance, he reminded people from age to age through his prophets, and then he finally came and laid down his life for his friends, so many could finally be reconciled with God.
Take it or don't.
He came for many ... not all.

sorry to set your apple cart, Pontious pilot, wanted to set Jesus free, but it was the masters of the synagogue, who set up Jesus, to die as was Jesus;s plan so that he could die for our sins and rise again, to show that those who followed him, should never fear death,, if they are righteous and believe in him, and through him the Father for he rose again to prove that life would be eternal after death. He replace every sacrifice that God, had commanded of the Jews. With one blood sacrifice of the lamb of Christ, all were given the chance of redemption, not just Jews , but all people, who came to believe that Christ died and rose again, and ascended to heaven to sit with his father at his right hand and keep the book of life for all of us to never question , but to take seriously that to follow in faith alone, which is the only path! going back to moses,, since God, knew it was impossible for all to be perfect,, when he came with the 10 commandants , and they didnt follow, those commandants, then God, struck them down ,,and this is when the new law was born, so then God, created and gave his only begotten son , as a sacrifice that we all may be saved,, if you can do only two things of the word,, then follow these two,,,love God, and love thy neighbor as you shall love yourself,,, now to me that's a pretty cool Dad ,, we have in Heaven,, Jesus, never went to Rome, they had only heard about him, and not in detail until Paul, was taken there in chains, so Rome , did'nt care one way or the other. Jeusus, was set up by the Rabbi's. One question, what if some of you are wrong and we are right, to bad so sorry ,, I will pray for you, PS,,follow God, not the incrowd! God Bless you ~~ and to never , ever forget ,as in the back of our book of life in Revelations, LET NO MAN TAKE OR ADD FROM THIS BOOK OF LIFE!!!
