I look for other things to pursue. There have been times in my life when things have gone horribly wrong--and you know what? Dwelling on them didn't do me a bit of good! Hope is only something that can come fron expectation, and if you've lost hope in something, then I'd suggest that you change your expectations. I know that may sound easier said than done--and trust me--it is! But it's the only thing to do unless you would rather sit around and continue to feel like all is lost!
Honestly, so many of you Christians must lead very un-fulfilling lives. All you ever seem to ask us unbelievers is what do we do when we feel pain, loss, dismay, anger. All those things are emotions--I have emotions too, but I live in the real world where there are things that need to be done, and where there are things that I enjoy doing, too. You know, happiness is a part of life as well as sadness, misery, heartache and pain. And so is accomplishment.
Sometimes I wonder if all that charismatic talk that Christians do all the time isn't just avoidance of something called personal accountability. You have a life (I hope). I suggest you go out and live it!

I've never been in a situation which was bad enough to "lose all hope"

When I lose hope I just move on, I don't sit down and cry and start praying to a fake belief such as your God.

I drink a beer, find something to take my mind off of the issues temporarily, and them pick myself up, dust myself off, and set about fixing the problem(s).

During tough times I look towards my family and close friends. Doesn't everyone? Or do you rely solely on an invisible, all powerful mythical being in the sky?

I have NEVER lost all hope, and have no reason to ever do so. I don't worship a sadistic, immoral, killer God who drowned, plagued, and slaughtered millions (more than Hitler). That is a very GOOD and HOPEFUL thing, no matter what else is happening in my life!

Why would I lose all hope? I have a lot to live for and my life is what I make it. Which is a positive environment.

I turn to my friends and family. Humans. The support of real live tangible humans. What more can you possibly need?
Not that I've ever lost "all hope". and with the support of those around me, I'm never going to.
